Celebrating Mental Wellbeing Day in Gaza: A Day of Joy for Children 🌈

This October, Kites4Palestine, in partnership with Banna Al Khayri, hosted a very special Mental Wellbeing Day for children in Gaza — a day dedicated entirely to laughter, play, and emotional healing.
Despite the challenges that these children face daily, the event brought smiles, connection, and a sense of hope to everyone involved. The highlight was a massive group activity where children came together to play under the guidance of trained facilitators. At the center of it all was a big rainbow parachute cloth, a joyful and colorful symbol of unity, teamwork, and creativity. Children ran, lifted, and danced under its arcs, learning to collaborate and enjoy the simple magic of play.

To keep energy high and spirits bright, snacks and drinks were provided for all participants, ensuring everyone had a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy the day. The event wasn’t just about fun — it was about creating a safe space where children could express themselves, connect with peers, and experience moments of pure joy despite the hardships around them.
Banna Al Khayri’s team were incredible partners, helping to make sure the day ran smoothly and that every child felt seen, supported, and included.
Mental wellbeing isn’t just a luxury — it’s a lifeline. Events like this remind us that even in the hardest circumstances, children can find moments of happiness, hope, and healing.
We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make this day possible, and to our supporters who make it possible for us to keep running events like this. Together, we’re helping the children of Gaza soar a little higher — one kite, one smile, one day of joy at a time.
