Global Palestine Kite Weekend | 12–13 July

On July 12th and 13th, thousands of people across the world came together to take part in the Global Palestine Kite Weekend — a tribute, a memorial, and a global act of love and resistance.

Communities gathered in parks, beaches, hills, and city spaces, filling the skies with kites for Palestine’s children — those we have lost, those still suffering, and those who continue to hold onto hope. 🌍🕊️

As our skies filled with colour, joy, and unity, the skies over Gaza and the West Bank were filled with smoke, grief, and devastation. While some of the footage captured the beauty of kites soaring across borders, other images showed the heartbreaking reality of a war on children — children who should be flying kites, not becoming martyrs.

This weekend was not simply an event.
It was a global memorial.

  • Every kite carried the name, the memory, and the spirit of a child lost.
  • Every string held by a hand across the world was a pledge of solidarity.
  • Every flutter of fabric in the sky whispered: You are not forgotten.

The Global Palestine Kite Weekend proved once again that when we come together, our voices — like our kites — cannot be silenced. We will continue to remember, to resist, and to stand for freedom.

Thank you to every single person who joined us across continents, raised a kite, and sent their prayers and love to Palestine. Together, we are building a sky of remembrance and a future of hope.

One sky. One cause. One Palestine.
